Mormon Temple

Towering over the beautiful British landscape is the Mormon Temple near Chorley.

It is an amazing building with its high spire and the golden angel Moroni on top! The grounds are immaculate and perfect for an evening stroll. Although, only worthy members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are allowed to enter the temple itself. However, any visitor to this place will feel the special spirit there.

The whole area exudes both peacefulness and tranquility. Whether a Mormon believer or not, this is truly a sacred place where one can come to feel closer to God.

The Mormon Temple Chorley is the 52nd operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The LDS Church took root in Preston, when the first Mormon missionaries arrived in 1837.

Otherwise known as ‘The Preston England Temple’, it anchors an extensive Church complex that includes:

  • a stake center
  • missionary training center
  • family history center
  • distribution center
  • patron housing facility
  • temple missionary accommodations.

Decorating the manicured grounds are mature trees, flower gardens, and a pair of reflection pools near the entrance.
