Chorley Little Theatre

Chorley Little Theatre is a volunteer-run theatre in Chorley Town Centre. Indeed, one can experience plays, comedy, film, and event cinema at this iconic theatre.

Owned and operated by Chorley Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (CADOS),  we are an amateur dramatics group.  Founded in 1933 and bought by the empty “Empire Picture House” in 1960, it was converted it into a theatre.  We show at least 6 productions per year, including an annual Pantomime.
Chorley Little Theatre are also home to Chorley Youth Theatre and Chorley Empire Community Cinema. In fact, we programme our own range of events. These include some music events and plenty of comedy nights.
As a result of our limited space, we have to build all our sets on the stage itself. This in fact, limits what else we can do. However, we’re perfect for comedy thanks to our generous-sized apron. Films are shown in digital HD with surround sound, and we serve Frederick’s Ice Cream at every event.
We are always looking for help. In general, the backstage crew meet on Tuesdays and Thursday to build sets (unless there’s a show on) and all our auditions are open to everyone. If you want to be on stage, just look for an audition coming soon.
Entirely independent, we exist thanks to ticket sales and bar sales. Recent years have been among our best-attended years ever, so a big thanks to everyone for their support!
